New Year - 2009

Happy New Year
This is the first geocaching outing of the year with many of the neighbours young and old!
As you can see it was a good turnout in very cold weather. Bailey the dog had done himself some mischief (ripped a paw), a couple of days before, and was confined to barracks.

The Holmes and Jackman families and Sue.

Lucy with a member of the Taliban.
Another outing into the forest on an even colder day.
The white edges are ice.
The firs and redwoods of Blackwater were planted in the late 1850s to create the Rhinefield Ornamental Drive. This giant sequoia, also known as the Wellingtonia, can grow to be the largest living thing on earth. Spot me at the base, OK it was a little dark.
The giant sequoia in all its glory.
